Unfinished quilt leads to lifelong hobby (The Ashland Gazette)- Topic: quilting patterns

GREENWOOD – An unfinished quilt inherited from her grandmother led Judy Hendrix to a four-decade love affair with quilting that grows each day. The Greenwood woman will share her passion for quilting and her love of fabric, color and quilt design during a trunk show entitled “Making Friends and Making Quilts” on Saturday, Oct. Her mother sent the quilt, still on the quilt frame, to Hendrix. Her grandmother had painstakingly drawn the quilting pattern on the fabric with blue fabric markers, so it was clear what needed to be done to finish the quilt. While it took four years to finish grandma’s quilt, it did not take long for Hendrix to catch the quilting bug and dive head first into the hobby.
