Lynn Doyle of Council Bluffs realized eight years ago how to transform her quilting hobby into a steady income. Through her sole proprietorship, Bloomin’ Minds, Doyle’s patterns sell to five different distributors, are picked up by quilt shops across the nation, appear in well-known sewing catalogs and are purchased by Internet browsers worldwide. When Doyle, 55, is not creating, printing, folding or shipping patterns, she teaches a sewing class once a month at Sew Viking, 928 Valley View Drive, and volunteers two days a week for the food pantry at our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
